
Ali Maleki was born in Tehran, Iran in 1969. He moved to Germany in 1993 and has been living in Fredericksburg, Virginia since 2025. He studied Architectural Restoration of historical buildings and Interior Design in Cologne, where he later taught and worked in the same field. He is currently active in his art studio.
Sculpture
Sculpture is his primary medium. He works with various materials and techniques to explore form, structure, and expressive possibilities.
Photography
He completed a one‑year traditional analog photography program in Tehran in 1985 (Iran-e-Ma Academy). Since 2007, he has focused on digital photography and continued his studies at VHS Cologne. From 2013 to 2016, he worked as an assistant to German art photographers Anna and Bernhard Blume. His photographic work centers on everyday life, people, and abstract forms.
